A DAY IN THE LIFE AS OUR HUD CLAIMS SPECIALIST

As our HUD Claims Specialist, you would be responsible for filing foreclosure and short sale claims for all investors, monitoring vacant properties, working with preservation companies to order property inspections, securing, and other preservation work deemed necessary or required. A HUD Claims Specialist pays expenses related to property preservation, inspections, utilities, and appraisals and works with homeowners, insurance adjustors, and UHC staff to protect and preserve UHC assets. An important part of your job will be taking inbound phone calls and assisting our loan counselors by making outbound calls. We attend various internal trainings and webinars to stay up to date on mortgage servicing guidelines. Every day we work with our customers to answer their questions and create a positive mortgage experience. Our customers all live in Utah, so our HUD Claims Specialists have the opportunity to make an impact in their very own state. The job is fast-paced and never boring!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR HUD CLAIMS SPECIALIST

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required - BS or BA in Business or Finance preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience with mortgage servicing. Default and/or property preservation experience preferred.
• Proven communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency in providing information and instruction related to complex issues
• Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Demonstrated proficiency in accessing information and providing applicable solutions.
• Solid understanding of Excel and Word
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
• Capable of coordinating efforts and collaborating with a variety of individuals
• Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple activities to meet department deadlines

WORK SCHEDULE

Our HUD Claims Specialist works 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. There are 2 standard shifts: an 8 - 5 shift and a 9 - 6 shift. Overtime is paid at time and a half.
