We are looking for a qualified Human Resources Intern to join our team in Wytheville this summer. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and has a positive team attitude.

The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, professional communication skills, willingness to cross-train in all functional areas of the HR department, and possesses critical/analytical thinking. This paid internship is a part-time role, approximately 25-30 hours a week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Ownership of project work and daily business as usual within HR office. This includes:


  • Greeting internal customers (team members) with upbeat attitude and willingness to assist.
  • Attention to detail in communications ; email , phone, etc. Professionalism and empathy expected.
  • Willingness to cross train within HR department to assist in all functional areas; recruiting, benefits, payroll, to implement improvements to HR functions.
  • Familiarity or working knowledge of HR competencies to include business acumen and critical/analytical thinking.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external contacts in person, through electronic communications, and on the phone using tact and professionalism.
  • Ability to anticipate deadline dates and stay on timeline with long term projects.
  • Maintain 5S of work area.
  • Submit suggestions for improvements.

Salary: $18.00 per hour
