HR Generalist

In this role, the Human Resources Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities and will be involved in critical functions such as staffing, training and development, payroll processing, and benefits administration. Objectives of this Role
- Administer compensation and benefits in compliance with internal policies and legal requirements
- Recommend new policies and procedures that enhance the employee experience while increasing HR department efficiency
- Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and employment laws.
- Execute personnel procedures and policies while providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly, monthly, and annual payrolls for a multi-state, multi-entity organization, ensuring the accuracy of hours, deductions, rates, and other payroll-related information.
- Administer benefit programs, such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and 401(k) retirement plan.
- Educate newly eligible employees on benefit plan options and manage enrollment, changes, and terminations within the programs.
- Assist with annual benefits renewal processes, working alongside the HR Manager and benefits broker.
- Review monthly benefits billing for accuracy and facilitate timely payments.
- Reconcile benefits-related GL accounts.
- Assist in handling administrative tasks for recruiting, onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in maintaining records of personnel transactions, including new hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, miscellaneous payroll deductions, and payroll changes.
- Assist in wellness challenges and clinics.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
- Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
- Advanced knowledge of HRIS and the ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of MS Office and related software, with a high level of proficiency in Excel to both create and maintain complex reports.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration required.
- Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of national laws and regulations related to employment.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
