The Home Lead is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the assigned home. This includes responsibility for providing guidance to direct care staff, addressing urgent issues in the home regarding Service Recipients (SR), and ensuring the home is maintained to meet Easter Seals of TN and DIDD standards. This position provides direct assistance with SRs daily living activities.
Pay starts at $14.75 per hour. If you have previous experience with Prospect or Easter Seals of TN, your starting pay could increase.

Essential Functions
The following list is not meant to be all-encompassing. There are many individual responsibilities and tasks that this position requires. Additional duties may be required, depending on the needs. - Addresses and resolves urgent issues that are related to persons served and the house, appropriately involving supervisor based on issue
- Ensures daily documentation (including, but not limited to notes and billing calendar) is completed on time and accurately; follows up with staff until complete and in compliance with agency standards.
- Provides mentoring and training to direct care staff including:
o Person-Specific Training
o Safety, including Fire Drills & Safety Observation lists
o Protection from Harm
o Daily Cleaning Schedule
o Menu Plans
- Submits all required documents to agency finance department (including personal funds requests and spending receipts with corresponding ledger, if applicable) by due dates.
- Creates menu plans and purchases groceries that align with special dietary needs and promote the health and wellness of SRs.
- Participates in Circle of Support (COS) meetings and provides guidance on actions.
- Reviews Individual Services Plans (ISP) to ensure goals are being properly carried out through meaningful services provided by employees.
- Administers medications in accordance with DIDD and Prospect medication administration policies.
- Completes daily checklist for direct care staff that includes:
- Medicine Administration Record (MAR), verifying adequate supply and documentation
- Household duties
- Transports SRs, including for medical appointments, as needed.
- Serves as a backup to fill shifts, as necessary.
- Advocates for SRs.
Position Requirements
- Minimum age 19.
- Current, valid Tennessee driver’s license with safe driving record.
- Current, valid personal automobile insurance.
Education and Training
- High school diploma/GED.
- Current medication administration certification (obtained through Easter Seals training).
Experience
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, preferred.
- Stable employment history.
- Social services experience, a plus.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with SRs and staff both in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgment, making decisions in the best interest of SRs.
- Ability to follow specific written and verbal instructions.
- Positive and effective social skills.
- Ability to keep detailed records.
- Computer proficiency.
