Little Hippo Books is looking for a talented Graphic Artist to join our growing team in our Melville, NY office.

Looking for talented, creative and driven individual who takes initiative and who can work in a small, fast-paced, high-energy environment. A flexible personality with the ability to multitask and be able to work under tight deadlines. A collaborative attitude is essential for all members of our team.

Qualified applicant needs to be experienced using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Applicants should have strong composition and layout skills with preproduction work and be knowledgeable of detailed nuances involved with production, including scale, color-work and printing considerations, accompanied by a fluent design sense in a Mac environment.

A Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field experience is ideal.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years experience working a strong portfolio.

• Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Technical skills to create and release production files, including scale, color-work and printing considerations
• Working knowledge of design for both print and digital production
• Strong retouching skills
• Must stay up-to-date with design and industry trends for graphic design, typography standards and software
• Experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects or Adobe Rush, etc.)
• Outstanding multitasking and prioritization skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Experience designing for various paid media channels (Canva a plus)
