Become an Environmental Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. This job is responsible for the development and implementation of environmental compliance programs that support SCE’s transformation of the electric power industry and strategic priorities to accelerate clean power and electrification. This leadership position within Environmental Services will support industry leading work to update and streamline SCE’s Environmental Management System through the implementation and administration of new digital systems, leading SCE’s new Environmental Compliance Program for Contractors, tracking all environmental permit payments and renewals for 1500+ facilities, supporting departmentwide purchasing and invoice management and guiding the Department’s Contractor Safety Program.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Lead the EMS Support team, including safety performance, goal setting, resource management and budget management.
  • Support the configuration, implementation, and administration of existing and new digital compliance management tools.
  • Update, improve and implement department processes related to compliance tasking, permit management, purchasing, and invoice management.
  • Lead a cross functional team from Environmental Services, Procurement and various representatives from operations to complete the implementation of SCE Environmental Compliance Program for Contractors.
Qualifications


The essentials

  • Bachelor Degree in environmental profession or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Five or more years of experience managing or supervising a team.

The preferred

  • ISO 14001 training.
  • Experience administering EHSync (SCE’s existing SAP based digital system for compliance management) or other industry leading digital environmental compliance information management system.
  • Strong teamwork skills to support cross functional processes.
  • Yellow belt training to improve department processes

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location).
