Chief Purpose of Position:

The Center for Sport Leadership is seeking applicants to fill a Grants Administrative Assistant role on a U.S. Department of State Sports Diplomacy grant entitled Empowering New Voices though Education and Sport Training (ENVEST). This position will be responsible for post-award administrative assistance including program planning, quarterly reporting, updating web content, coordinating and scheduling meetings, and assisting with travel logistics. The individual will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with the PI and grants team.

ENVEST Programs
Sports Diplomacy enhances cross-cultural understanding and opens new avenues of dialogue and collaboration between individuals and nations. In support of U.S. Department of State foreign policy objectives, VCU’s ENVEST sports diplomacy programs create both people-to-people and institutional linkages through sport. Sports-based people-to-people exchanges are central to building and promoting values of inclusion and create opportunities to establish the trust needed to build a more stable, secure, and prosperous world. ENVEST programs find effective ways that sport can play a role in promoting more stable and inclusive communities, and as an alternative to anti-social behavior.
Holistically, the ENVEST project will coordinate and carry out four two-way exchanges between January 2023 – August 2024, with approximately 20-30 people participating and traveling within each project. Country partners include Ghana, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, and Togo.
