Your Impact:
At Jacobs, we don’t just lead the development and implementation of environmental compliance, we live it. As a Junior Environmental Engineer, you will work in the office and field with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of experienced engineers and consulting staff. Working closely with senior Environmental Engineers, you’ll support the delivery of environmental projects by preparing reports and project documents, preparing calculations, maintaining strong relationships with internal staff and clients, evaluating and reviewing data and ensuring the environmental strategy is being followed. You'll gain exposure in Wastewater, water quality and flow and percipitation data entry and analysis, management of contractor activities for sewer flow monitoring studies and sewer investigation projects, as well as use of field investigation equipment, such as zoom cameras or measuring devices, during sewer investigation or cleaning activities in the San Juan Metropolitan Area.
You’ll have the opportunity to help create a more sustainable world by ensuring environmental compliance, environmental management and health and safety while working on diverse projects in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. - Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Civil, Environmental, Environmental Sciences, Marine Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or Ecology
- Physical capacity to perform field activities such as lifting heavy items including but not limited to water coolers , manhole covers, walking for long durations, and carrying sewer investigation equipment among others
- Excellent technical writing skills and possess the ability to deliver compliance advice
- Bilingual written and oral communication in English and Spanish
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite, ArcGIS tools, CAD software and programing langauges (VBA, SQL, Python)
- 3.0 GPA
- An understanding of the implications of environmental regulations
- Knowledge of environmental compliance, environmental consulting, and client interactions/relationships.
- Strong attention to detail when making technical evaluations and reviewing reports
- Basic knowledge of federal and state/provincial environmental regulations
