The Engineer will play a key support role in the Department of Public Works, Engineering Division, which consists of the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, Engineering Manager, Senior Engineer, Engineer and Senior Management Analyst. The ideal candidate will be an action-oriented team player with a history of notable achievements and experience in engineering, and report directly to the Engineering Manager.

This position will manage capital improvement projects, review public and private development plans, perform site inspections, prepare exhibits and reports, and oversee the City’s storm water compliance program. The successful candidate will work well with other City departments and outside agencies, meet with and help residents and provide and perform related work as required. The Engineer must be an exceptional communicator and have the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders including staff, business owners and the public.

Under general supervision, performs various professional field and office engineering work related to the management, planning, design, construction, and maintenance of City capital improvement, public works, and City infrastructure projects, and daily departmental operations; provides project management and administration; confers with architects, developers, contractors, and representatives of other agencies regarding facility and infrastructure development; administers professional services and construction contracts; administers Federal and State grant funds associated with construction projects; provides professional staff assistance to the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, other departments, and the public in areas of expertise; performs a variety of studies and prepares and presents staff reports; and performs related work as required.

Pay: $97,279.13 - $118,243.39 per year
