Electrical/Controls Engineer (Ceres, California) Job at B & H Labeling Systems
B & H Labeling Systems seeks an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer to work out of our Ceres, California location.
- Engineers, designs, develops, and tests all aspects of equipment and machinery encompassing hardware and software development.
- Applies knowledge of electrical engineering principles to design machines under the supervision of Senior Engineers.
- Participates in design reviews and works on phases, sub-tasks or entire projects of moderate complexity.
- Independently determines approach to assigned tasks, and develops timelines for completion of design projects.
- Some project management is required.
- Working knowledge of a number of systems and technical subjects, performing a variety of tasks.
- Exercises certain degree of creativity, considerable latitude and technical judgement in deciding work methods.
- Able to give effective presentations to general audiences, write comprehensive proposals and reports with all necessary back up material for internal consumption.
- Grow to train own workgroup and effectively leads small teams within own workgroup.
- Effectively communicate and works well in a team environment, provides input and feedback in a constructive manner.
- Able to interact well with internal and external customers.
- Completes necessary engineering calculations, creates drawings, compiles bills of materials, and identifies vendors.
- Monitors the build of equipment to verify functionality and overall quality.
- Some travel may be required, as deemed necessary based on business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from a college or university with an ABET certified curriculum is required.
- 1 to 5 years of automation experience is required.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in the field of practical application of the elements of electrical engineering with emphasis in automation and controls, Servo, PLC and HMI programming experience.
- Ability to work with all levels of engineers, manufacturing and production personnel, sales, administration and management.
- Solid organizational and planning skills. Must be able to pay attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, articulate, team player, and dependable.
- Self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy/efficiency.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with CAD or CAE applications (i.e., AutoCAD Electrical)
- Computer literate: spreadsheets, database and word processing.
**This position is based out of our Ceres, California location, and is not a remote position.**
