DWM Holdings is looking for a reliable, experienced manufacturing supervisor to fill a 2nd Shift Supervisor position. This position is responsible for supervising the team and directing activities in the Production department during 2nd-shift operations. This individual reports directly to the Plant Manager, works closely with the Production team members, and is a member of the company’s Production team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising and directing production activities and ensuring the safety for all team members assigned to 2nd shift
  • Direct and supervise Production team members to ensure correct, accurate and timely completion of work to meet production and delivery schedules
  • Enhance 2nd-shift production quantity and standards
  • Ensure 2nd-shift team members are trained on environmental issues such as spill control, proper storage, disposal of waste, and chemical emergency
  • Support and develop 2nd-shift production schedule for the execution of projects in a timely manner
  • Oversee the training and development of 2nd-shift team members in both the mental and physical aspects of their responsibilities
  • Motivate team to support company goals through recognition and accountability
  • Work as liaison between on-the-floor 2nd-shift team members and management to create healthy team relations
  • Work closely with Human Resources to investigate and resolve team-member performance issues impacting 2nd-shift operations
  • Ensure 2nd-shift workers know how to work safely, and make sure they follow the law and workplace health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ensure the daily pre-use inspection checklists are completed (i.e., for production machines, cranes, forklifts, etc.)
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment for safety and functionality
  • Maintain a clean, safe workplace
  • Check finished products to ensure quality, and that industry standards are met before they are declared ready for use
  • Work with materials, quality, and operations team to reconcile inventory, receiving, delivery, presentation and/or quality discrepancies

Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Education
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a production environment with evidence of increased responsibility a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a production team lead or manager, preferably production supervisor
  • Ability to follow the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act (MIOHSA)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience leading teams or projects strongly desired
  • Lean manufacturing and continual process improvement experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and the ability to talk and hear
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
