Position Reports to: Vice President of Business Development
Job Summary: Director is responsible for the overall Facility Services Department that includes the following areas: Engineering and Facility Management, Landscaping, Construction, Facility Planning, Energy Management, Safety Management, and the Physical Environment Chapters according to the ACHC (Accreditation Commission for Health Care) Standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the following functions: Plant Operations, Property Management, grounds maintenance, design & construction projects and safety management.
  • Plans and assigns work projects to maintenance charge persons and/or maintenance supervisor. Plans and initiates programs to reduce energy consumption, schedules monitoring, adjustment and replacement of equipment.
  • Develops, implements and maintains a proactive system for scheduled inspection of all facilities on a pre-determined schedule to assure that the facilities are maintained in a pristine condition.
  • Evaluates performance of subordinates; counsels employees; resolves complaints and solves problems; interviews and hires employees; orientates and oversees training of new employees.
  • Works with architects in planning additions and renovations, contacts and interviews contractors, accepts and analyzes bids; awards contracts and manages construction projects.
  • Plans and coordinates work projects and departmental managers to insure projects are completed with least disruption to department routine.
  • Maintains necessary records; prepares and submits various reports to governmental agencies; prepares and submits department activity reports, as required.
  • Reviews all purchase orders and invoices and authorizes payment. Reviews all invoices for maintenance supplies and parts, services, and authorizes payment.
  • Responsible for the fleet of vehicles owned by Wilson Health to assure that routine maintenance is performed and that vehicles are maintained in a safe condition. Responsible for an annual assessment of all vehicles for the purpose of making a recommendation to the Capital Budget Committee for vehicle purchases for the following year.
  • Prepares annual operating and capital budgets; responsible for operating each function within the approved budget.
  • Carries out special projects, performs other duties and accepts any responsibility deemed appropriate or beneficial by the Vice President.
  • Develop, maintain and takes leadership position in ACHC inspection, environment of care committees, utility plants, work groups and including maintenance requirements and efforts
  • Maintains regular communication with staff to motivate and guide individual as well as department growth to achieve maximum potentials and clear direction in future planning and development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a Bachelor’s degree in Business: Preferred
Five years healthcare facilities experience: Preferred
Five years leadership experience: Preferred
Certified Facility Manager (CFM) / Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) / Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP): Preferred
