Shields Manufacturing is looking for a Customer Service Representative to provide fast and friendly service to our customers. If you are a team player with a few years of experience in customers service, good communication skills,and attention to detail we would love to hear from you!

Essential Duties:

• Communicate with customers by telephone, email, or in person to provide information about products, take and enter orders, and respond to inquiries and complaints.
• Assist with the status of customer portals/dashboards for updates to customer purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate records in email and in the database feedback module of customer interactions and problem resolutions.
• Review customer sales contracts and participate in new business negotiations.
• Support Program Managers in the handling of customer complaints and dispute resolution.
• Perform day to day administrative tasks such as maintaining customer order files, customer records, and other information in both paper and electronic form.
• Recommend improvements to processes and procedures and maintain an attitude of continuous improvement.
• Input data into a computerized database with a high degree of accuracy.

Education/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years’ customer service representative experience in a relevant manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, understanding of quality standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and an ERP / MRP computer system (SyteLine preferred)
• High level of attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help people, including external customers, internal customers, and co-workers.
• Ability to deal with difficult people and situations.
• Ability to analyze information and select the best solution.
