Starting salary for this position is: $2,764 (Monthly)
Employees starting at the entry step of this range receive salary step advancement after six months and every 12 months thereafter. If an employee starting at anything higher than the entry step of the range, will have salary step advancement after 12 months and salary step advancement every 12 months thereafter until they reach the top of the salary range. Each salary step advancement will be approximately a 5% increase in salary.

SFCC is one of two accredited community colleges that comprise the Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS). In addition to serving the urban and suburban population in greater Spokane, including students from Fairchild Airforce Base, CCS provides educational services to rural communities throughout our 12,302 square-mile region in Eastern Washington, including students from the Spokane and other Eastern Washington tribes.

The Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Credentials Evaluator 2 in the SFCC Admission/Registration Division.
GENERAL DEFINITION
Under general supervision the Credentials Evaluator 2 is responsible for reviewing, processing, evaluating and approving a wide variety of credentials to determine student course transfer credit, course equivalency, class standing, graduation eligibility and degree transfers. With delegated authority, this position may approve or deny graduation based upon evaluations of academic credentials, and initiate notice of appropriate action.
This position will also process requests for transcripts and inform prospective and current students of a variety of admissions and registration processes and maintain and update computerized transcript databases for advising purposes.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Update and maintain student management system (ctcLink) and other databases and modify as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, graduation records, transcript records, converting student records into ctcLink from historical records, academic advisement report program requirements, career and technical education (CTE) dual credit and academic credit for prior learning (ACPL). *- Evaluate incoming official transcripts from other colleges and universities. Use the automated process for institutions included in the course equivalency database in student management system (ctcLink). Hard copy, pdf, or transcripts not in the course equivalency database must be entered manually. *
- Research transfer courses from community colleges, technical colleges and baccalaureate institutions and determine accreditation of transfer institutions while interpreting a wide variety of grading scales and assorted academic calendars. Maintain positive working relationships with CCS and SFCC departments as well as outside academic agencies and institutions. *
- Certify/verify enrollment for students obtaining financial aid, insurance, employment, and deferment of loan payments, process fee waivers and fee credits according to established guidelines and procedures. *
- Review and certify transcripts and permanent records for accuracy, grade changes, repeats and credits; interpret applicable admissions and records policies and apply them in a variety of procedural situations. *
- Process outgoing transcript requests and degree verifications through the National Student Clearinghouse in a timely manner and according to established guidelines and procedures. *
- Run academic advisement reports for use in evaluation processing and degree completion and to assist students in determining needed classes for graduation when appropriate. *
- Use student management system (ctcLink) and academic advising reports to collect data on transcript conversion, data entry, retrieve data, transcript review and printing, external transcript review, and to collaborate with instructional offices regarding college catalog data. *
- Respond to inquiries regarding institutional incoming course transfer policies and procedures via phone, fax, e-mail, or in person to inform prospective students of institution application process and accept or reject courses from other institutions via electronic transfer. *
- Utilize the retention suite of the TargetX customer relationship management (CRM) tool to communicate with students about transcripts and graduation. Generate reports and maintain a variety of records, files and databases regarding numbers, pre-requisites, transfer credit evaluations, student profiles and transfer colleges attended for reporting purposes. *
- Update and train Student Affairs staff regarding procedural changes. *
- Act as backup to other credential evaluators.
- May instruct and check the work of work-study students.
- Assist in other areas of student affairs as needed, including support for annual commencement ceremony.
- Model professional decorum and mutual respect in all personal interactions. *
- Comply with district policies, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statutes and collective bargaining agreements. *
- Support and advance the CCS strategic plan, and perform other duties as assigned. *
- Indicates this is an essential duty.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
Ability to learn and apply complex community college credit transfer and graduation rules.- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher).

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES (DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS)
- Associate degree from an accredited institution.
- One (1) or more years of admissions, registration, or related office experience.
- Experience using a student management system (PeopleSoft) including an academic advising report/tool.
- Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Experience with admissions and registration requirements and procedures.
TOTAL COMPENSATION WITH BENEFITS: $49,849 - $61,135.
Total compensation is an estimate based upon adding the following amounts together:
Base compensation of $33,168 - $43,800, plus- Current employer-paid health and related benefit contribution rates, plus

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Full-time schedule (12-months, 40-hours a week).
- 6-month probationary period; may be extended up to 12 months.
- This position is overtime eligible.
