H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm seeks a Construction Manager to join our Melville, NY Office. The Construction Manager, in cooperation with the Project Manager, will be responsible for all activities related to project construction / contract administration.

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for observation of project construction work and related field work.
- Preparing a daily Inspector report, in the H2M format on a tablet, including obtaining photographic documentation of work performed.
- Responsible for Daily monitoring and confirming all contractor work complies with project plans, technical documents and industry specific standards.
- Assist with review of; shop drawings, R.F.I.’s, change orders, payment estimates and related construction administration duties.
- Supervises and/or assigns staff as necessary to complete project assignments.
- Responsible for project budgets and performance; monitors project financials and billing as necessary.
- Drive to and from multiple project sites during any given day or night as needed to observe contractors’ activities.
- Make accurate judgments calls on a variety of construction field activities in the event of deviations from the project plans.
- Review and download field data into laptop computer utilizing company approved software and transfer to server.
- Discuss projects with Project Manager and team on a daily basis.
- Attend project related meetings, prepare minutes of meetings when required.
- May assist with preparation of proposals in response to Client RFP‘s and RFQ’s.
- Perform other like duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering and/or related studies is preferred
- Detailed knowledge of building construction, techniques, and procedures.
- Work experience of 10 + years
- Good judgment skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean history.
- Ability to stand, climb and walk continuously during an 8+-hour period.
- Ability to climb ladders +/-20’.
- Ability to perform work in all climates (Ex. heat and cold, etc.).
- Must have good computer skills and be able to learn related software.
- Smart phone for use in daily field activities.
