Position Summary

We are looking for an Operations Manager to play a critical role in building out our reconditioning and claims response platforms. Our ideal candidate should be able to leverage existing industry knowledge, process, relationships, and superb communication skills to ensure The Fortis Standard is upheld for every project and to achieve total customer satisfaction.

Our Operations Manager will represent our company and interact with major clients on a regular basis. In addition to a strong operations background steeped in process and technology, this position requires polish, strong execution skills, and a passionate customer service attitude.

Ultimately, properly executed reconditioning work, low claims costs/activity, and repeat customers are the top measurables of this role.

Necessary Skills

The Fortis Operations Manager must be a jack-of-all-trades service professional with a wide range of skills to build out our operations platform and set it up to be scaled with the sales growth of the business. As a senior member of our staff and key resource to operations, this role needs a “whatever it takes” attitude.

It is imperative for the Fortis Operations Manager to learn the ins and outs of all of Fortis’ service lines and The Fortis Standard to properly communicate our reconditioning and claims needs to our strategic contractor partners.

A hands-on mentality will be needed to help build process, educate internal staff and 3rd party vendors, and set a solid foundation for growth based on measured performance.

General Fortis Warranty Qualifications

Fortis Warranty believes that, having prior roofing operations experience is a must to achieve success in this role. Strong preference will be given to a candidate with a service management background with experience in managing crews, preparing service scopes of work, and strong familiarity with the industry’s best service materials for all roof applications. The Operations Manager in this role must possess the following key traits:

Operations Manager Specific Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent
  • Ability to travel at least 50%
  • 10 years’ experience as a Service/Operations Manager, or similar role
  • Successful track history of building and managing a service staff
  • Ability to work closely with both the sales team and customers
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute the process with metrics
  • Track record of successfully executing strategy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply general mathematical concepts
  • Experienced in using technology - such as smart devices
  • Strong ability to use software such as MS Office and Salesforce
  • Ability to climb ladders, access roofs, and carry items over 40 pounds
