Role: The Commercial Credit Analyst III at Thomaston Savings Bank is responsible for providing competent credit analysis for complex commercial and/or agricultural lending activities, assistance in the administration of commercial and/or agricultural borrowing accounts, conduct appraisal reviews, training for business loan staff, and assistance in the completion of special projects and assignments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities of the Commercial Credit Analyst III:
- Reviews loan work-ups prepared by other analysts for adherence to underwriting standards, completion and proper execution to ensure adequate enforceability of Bank’s position for new and existing loans reviewed. This includes loan details, financial copies and approvals, etc.
- Completes a thorough, in-depth analysis of new commercial credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual relationship reviews. Recommend risk rating including changes when analysis merits. Produces a loan analysis narrative for presentation to Lender, Loan Committee and/or Board of Directors.
- Spread financial statements (personal, business and corporate) regularly to assist lenders in analyzing credits. Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for lenders on new, renewal and existing loans. Reports findings to Credit Manager that may have an adverse effect on the loan collateral or the Borrower’s ability to repay the loan.
- Completing the loan application forms and submitting to loan committee for approval with notes and opinions. Ensures company credit exposures on assigned loans are within set risk bearing limits.
- Lead or assist with projects that will consist primarily of credit administration issues and may relate to possible changes in polices and procedures, possible changes as a result of examiner or auditor recommendations, peer group analysis, market studies, changes in compliance and regulations, software upgrades, monitoring of industry or borrower concentrations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for efficiency gains such as outsourcing, insourcing, centralization of duties/staff, etc.
- Serve as assistant department manager as needed. Manages pipeline, schedules MLC meetings and loan approvals and serves as resource for Closing Administrators.
- Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, in addition to all company policies.
Experience and Education Goals for the Commercial Credit Analyst III at Thomaston Savings Bank: Eight years to 10 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field strongly preferred.
