Billing Coordinator (Family Eyecare Associates- Sparks, NV) Job at VSP Ventures Optometric Solutions LLC
General Summary
Primary role is to process claims for patients, products, or services for Vision Plans and/or Medical Plans, verify patient data for accurate billing, and perform all billing activity for the practice.
Essential Functions
Identify and resolve insurance claims and issues in a timely manner
Process payments from insurance companies
Post, correct and/or resubmit open or denied claims
Monitor patient accounts to ensure on time payments and report on overdue accounts
Resolve billing discrepancies by investigating billing and invoicing errors and implement process improvements to avoid future errors
Ensures accurate and timely posting of all accounts receivable, including live checks, on-line credit card payments, phone-in credit card payments, and electronic fund transfers
Acts as point of contact for incoming calls from vendors and customers regarding questions about billing and payment status.
Contacts patients regarding credit and payment balances, makes collection referrals and documents and updates the patient’s record.
Ensures current insurance information is on file for patient and obtains necessary authorizations
Works on special projects and perform other related duties assigned or requested
Job Specifications:
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
One to three years of finance or billing experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm and a positive attitude, and perform as a team player
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Must be capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Working Conditions
The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust etc.
