  • Travel required in worcester county area, and use of personal vehicle.

Summary of Position:

The ASD Individual Supports Specialist reports to the ASD Services Coordinator. As assigned, the Individual Supports Specialist provides assessment and/or teaching of community living skills to people with ASD living in Venture’s Transitional Housing program. The ASD Individual Supports Specialist delivers training to individuals in compliance with Agency policy and procedures. This position is will be compensated on an hourly basis and is non-exempt. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification required upon hire, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the ASD Services Coordinator to assess the skill level of participants in activities of daily living including home and personal care, finances, accessing public transportation, accessing community resources, home safety, and medical/dental care.
  • Develop Life Plan with individual and ASD Services coordinator
  • Provide direct individual training in community, of community living skills as defined by program contract.
  • Collect data about training provided, success rates, as outlined in the individuals’ Life Plan document
  • Compose contact notes outlining services/training provided for each individual served.
  • Maintain contact with Director, giving regular updates on individuals that may be in emergency situation and or receiving ongoing medical support
  • Maintain confidentiality and positive demeanor while successfully juggling priorities simultaneously.

Marginal Duties:

  • Presence in administrative office as needed.
  • Attendance at administrative and other meetings as requested.
  • Observe all Agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make and keep appointments in the community.
  • Ability to analyze tasks for step-by-step instruction.
  • Ability to provide transportation as needed
Requirements:

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 + years old, have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, daily use of car on site and by available by telephone of daily contact.
  • Must have Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification upon hire, or obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
  • At least two years’ experience in Human Services, preferably working with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Employee must possess the knowledge; skills and abilities listed above, and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job. Employee must be able to speak, read and write in fluent English.
