Administrator Job at World Affairs Council of Tacoma
The World Affairs Council Tacoma (WACT) is looking for an Administrator who is independent and self-motivated. This is a part-time position paying $20/hour and is generally 20 hours/month, typically working from home. Ideally this individual is interested in international affairs, can attend board meetings every other month and monthly executive committee meetings, both at 8:00a.m. We are looking for a self-starter, comfortable working with minimal supervision. Basic Qualifications
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the World Affairs Council (email, VOIP phone, web, and social media presence)
- Organizing and maintaining digital files and records
- Planning and scheduling meetings, events, and appointments
- Preparing and editing digital correspondence, reports, and presentations
- Providing quality customer service
Critical Skills
- Reliable internet access (at least 10MB download/ 1MB upload)
- Comfortable using a web content management system; (the Council presently uses Wild Apricot)
- Setting up and managing email reminders for meetings and events in Wild Apricot
- Receiving emailed materials (copy, visual assets) from board members and ensuring they are sent to the appropriate people (inside and outside the organization) for event marketing
- Scheduling, hosting and troubleshooting Zoom meeting.
- Preparing and sending email blasts for event announcements (using Constant Contact and Wild Apricot)
- Occasional use of social media (primarily Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn)
- Generating and sending invoices in Wild Apricot when necessary
- Basic familiarity with Google Suite
- Basic familiarity with YouTube studio
Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of graphic design software/suites such as Adobe Photoshop or Canva
- Ability to organize, troubleshoot and manage YouTube live streams of Zoom meetings
- Customer service experience with diverse members of the public, from the interested layman to government officials and/or their staff
- Knowledge of best practices and intellectual property concerns with regard to web-based marketing
- Ability to produce social media analytics reports
- Excellent writing skills, including crafting original correspondence and email announcements
Education:
High school diploma required; AA or BA preferred
