Summary:

The primary objective of this position is to oversee all Accounts Receivable functions for the Ross School/Ross Institute (Ross).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Receive executed tuition contracts from Admissions Office.
  • Student Tuition billing – set up and maintain on Financial Edge, create and maintain student files for documentation.
  • Creates student profiles on Blackbaud/Financial Edge
  • Sets up all other receivables.
  • Produces and mails monthly statement to parents.
  • Maintains Bill O Matic software
  • Receives and processes all tuition payments and fees (cash, check and credit card payments, wire transfers).
  • Posts receipts in Blackbaud/Financial Edge: prepares deposits, make all bank deposits in a timely manner
  • Posts to Financial Edge all charges billed to students
  • Processes all income received from events
  • Maintains petty cash fund: distribution of money, requests account replenishment, and reconciliation.
  • Maintains student residential banking accounts (includes money disbursed to students twice a week)
  • Reports on past due tuition accounts and contacts parents for payment
  • Submits delinquent accounts to Collection Agency when necessary
  • Files all A/R paperwork
  • Prepare and post adjusting journal entries in Financial Edge, when necessary, to correct postings in the General Ledger
  • Performs other related assignments as requested by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer
  • Assist others in department.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of three years experience in bookkeeping/accounts payable.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required:

  • The ability to use a personal computer to accurately enter financial data into Blackbaud, Excel and MS Word programs.
  • Ability to comprehend, create, and carry out instructions furnished in written and/or oral form.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to prepare reports.
  • Ability to relocate from one physical space to another throughout the course of the day as well as attend off site meetings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with vendors.
  • Ability to engage in team work and work cooperatively with others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
